Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving is one festival that originated out of man's sense of gratitude. Shared joy of good fortune, of plenty in terms of basic commodity like food, an overwhelming feeling of thankfulness for nature's bounty and a recognition and acknowledgement of the power of providence over man are the feelings that lie behind the celebrations . It is a day set apart to thank the almighty for the bounties received during the year, usually symbolised by various crops. On Thanksgiving, people celebrate the results of long period of toil. This day is celebrated in the United States of America, on the 4th Thursday of the month of November.
